The Deliberative Body approved the new organic structure of the Executive branch without creating new positions and celebrated the imminent 7% reduction in the Public Lighting municipal tax, a provincial measure that will directly impact the pockets of residents.
The Deliberative Council of Concordia held its twenty-sixth Ordinary Session, presided over by the vice-mayor Lic. Magdalena Reta de Urquiza, in which a package of measures focused on administrative efficiency was approved, highlighting fiscal relief for the taxpayer.
Reorganization without Fiscal Impact
The central point of the day was the approval of the new Organic Structure of the Municipal Executive Department. Reta de Urquiza emphasized that the reform is being carried out under the principle of austerity: "No new positions are created", she assured.
The reorganization seeks to optimize resource management and citizen service, highlighting:
Relief for the Pocket: Reduction of Public Lighting
Another highlighted topic was the assessment of a provincial measure that will generate a direct impact on the rates of Concordia residents, starting in January 2026. Councilman Javier Aguilar (LLA) highlighted the decision of Governor Rogelio Frigerio to reduce the fiscal pressure on the electricity bill, which will mean a savings of approximately 7% for users. In this way, explained Reta de Urquiza, the measure establishes two modifications:
Cap on Public Lighting: For household consumers, the Public Lighting municipal tax will be reduced from 16% to 13% of the total bill.
Contribution of Cooperatives: The contribution that electric service cooperatives make to municipalities will decrease from 8.69% to 6%.
Reta de Urquiza acknowledged the fiscal effort that the measure implies for the Municipality: "It is an enormous effort because it practically implies relinquishing a collection of 2 billion annually, which will now turn into more savings for users".
Projects of Social and Cultural Interest
The session also advanced the social agenda with the unanimous approval of two resolution projects:
Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Free Screening and Campaigns in Concordia
The Deliberative Council, based on the initiative of councilwoman Claudia Villalba, declared Municipal Interest the "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" and all activities scheduled in the city.
The main objective is to intensify public awareness about the importance of prevention, early detection and treatment of this disease. The resolution highlights that body care (healthy diet, exercise) and regular medical consultations with examinations are crucial steps for early detection, which significantly increases the chances of a cure.
Free Screening Services in October
The project underscores the coordination of efforts between the Masvernat Hospital and LALCEC to facilitate access to screening:
Schedule of Featured Activities
