As a result of joint work between the Municipality of Concordia and the Obra Misionera Nueva Vida Foundation, the “Arco Iris” Child Development Center, after being relocated, will begin operating in the Esperanza neighborhood.
It will be in facilities located on the property that the church owns on Yuquerí Boulevard, between Germán Abdala and 11 de Noviembre streets, and will respond to a significant demand in the northwest area of the city, with proximity to other neighborhoods such as Villa Cresto or Los Pájaros.
Mayor Francisco Azcué visited the site, where the final building preparation tasks are being carried out, an opportunity in which he highlighted the importance of joint work between the Municipality and the institutions or organizations that play a role in society: “this is what we need, to work in this way and for everyone to do everything within their reach because it undoubtedly makes us better”.
“This sector of the city presents many demands and one of them was to be able to have a CDI. From the administration, we know that there are situations of vulnerability that must be addressed, which are complex but as a State, we must not be absent,” affirmed Azcué.
The Director of Childhood, Adolescence and Family, Adriana Medina, announced that the CDI is expected to begin operating soon, initially receiving 17 children ranging from 45 days to 3 years old. “We are very happy to be able to take this step, that the children in this area can have a Child Development Center, which has aroused a lot of interest in the community because there are several families with whom we are already in contact.”
For her part, Pastor Ligia Wurfel, of the Obra Misionera Nueva Vida Foundation, thanked the Municipality and the General Council of Education “for being able to work together and from our place, provide a space that allows them to develop activities, not only with the children but also with the families.”
This is possible through an agreement for the free use of the facilities, between the Municipality of Concordia and the Obra Misionera Nueva Vida Foundation, with the participation of the General Council of Education, which will provide the teaching staff that will work at the CDI.
Present were the Secretary of Human Development Carlos Gatto; the Departmental Director of Schools Alejandro Ramírez; and supervisors Soraya Ramat and Cecilia García.
