On an emblematic artery for the history of Concordia's carnivals, the 2020 edition of the Pequeños Duendes Carnival began this Friday.
"Recovering what is Carriego street for our city's carnival, and we are living this first night very anxiously," indicated the general coordinator of the Pequeños Duendes. "Families, residents, friends, everyone turns out to support and cheer for each of the comparsas, and this is very important," she commented.
"When the Pequeños Duendes Carnival began, in the mid-90s, at the hands of Laura Martínez Pass and Juan Carlos Cresto, it had great development; later it was resumed by Enrique Cresto and Leticia Ponzinibbio, and when Enrique assumed the office of mayor it became a municipal state policy, because it is a program that allows children to express themselves artistically, it is a social support program, where they learn to share and relate to others, with a great deal of work carried out over many months, until reaching this moment of the parades," pointed out the mayor Alfredo Francolini regarding this.
"We must highlight and thank all the work carried out by the organizers and the different areas of the Municipality and also the Conased Foundation. But above all the commitment of the children and the families, who are the great protagonists of this celebration and without them it could not be held," stressed the Municipal President.
On this first night, El Gigante Dormido from Benito Legerén, champion of the 2019 edition, Los Galanes de Pompeya (from the Pompeya Sur neighborhood), Capullito from the Villa Jardín neighborhood, Zambayon from Villa Zorraquín and Luna Brillante from Colonia Roca, Sueño Divino from the San Miguel II neighborhood, and Fantasía Carnavalera from the Pancho Ramírez neighborhood paraded.
"The next parade will be this Sunday, January 19 at 8:00 PM on Entre Ríos street, from Veles Sarsfield to Plaza Urquiza," invited Albornos.
Accompanying the start of the 2020 Pequeños Duendes were the secretaries of Social Development Amadeo Cresto, of Health and Sports Mauro García, of Management Coordination Fernando Barboza, of Urban Development Mireya López Bernis, the coordinator of Popular Festivals Matías Soto, the institutional advisor to the Executive María de los Ángeles Petit, the president of the Deliberative Council Daniel Cedro, the councilors Pablo Bovino, Lia Solos and Gastón Etchepare, among other officials and authorities.
