Confirming the trend experienced throughout the entire summer, the penultimate night of the Concordia Carnival was also packed with audiences in all sectors. Around 15,000 people vibrated at the Municipal Corsódromo as Imperio, Emperatriz, Ráfaga, and Bella Samba passed by. As in previous occasions, the large influx of spectators from different parts of the country and also from Uruguay made a difference.
The Concordia Carnival has no ceiling and continues to grow, consolidating itself as one of the great cultural and tourist events not only of Concordia, but of the entire region. With a sustained average of ten thousand spectators per night, the last two parades, which take place on the long weekend due to the holidays associated with this festival, exceeded expectations. VIP Sector seats have been sold out for several days, with only tickets for the grandstand sector remaining available.
The spectacular nature of the costumes, floats, and proposals that each Comparsa displays on the track is complemented by the passion and joy with which the spectators experience each parade. This is reflected in the comments of those tourists who came to see the Concordia Carnival for the first time and were surprised. The large influx of the public throughout each of the carnival nights, and especially tourists from other countries, marks the course of the greatest summer festival in Concordia.
RECOGNITION FOR MONAJE
During this fifth night, there was a special moment. Among the public was Carlos Monaje, the historic voice of the ECU Student Festival. Monaje, who currently lives in the province of Corrientes, came to Concordia to experience the Carnival and was surprised by the organization, which decided to recognize his career and contribution to Concordia's festivities.
Mayor Alfredo Francolini, National Deputy Mayda Cresto, and the Coordinator of Popular Festivals Matías Soto presented him with a special recognition on the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" track, which was accompanied by the applause of all those present. "There is a cliché that says, I didn't expect it, but it's true, I didn't expect it. Whenever I come to Concordia I receive a lot of affection, thank you very much," said Monaje, visibly moved.
And he referred to the growth of the Concordia Carnival. "You see, I have roots in Corrientes, it's different there. I like this style better. I've seen it for many years, and it has grown a lot. I like the show, it's very good," said the announcer.
At the same time, it is worth noting that before the start of the parade, the carnival members who passed away in the last year were remembered on the screens, and the entire great Concordia Carnival family applauded them without distinction of comparsa or colors.
LAST NIGHT
Around 15,000 people danced to the rhythm of the most passionate party in the penultimate parade. This Monday, February 24, will be the farewell to the 2020 edition. It should be noted that for some days now, tables in the VIP sector have been sold out for this last night, with only general tickets for the grandstand sector and some seats in the chair sector remaining available.
