The Municipality of Concordia, through the Decentralized Sanitary Works Entity (EDOS) and within the framework of the water infrastructure plan, is executing the extension of the drinking water network with the objective of resolving a historical supply problem in the Pampa Soler neighborhood.
The project contemplates the extension of an independent network of approximately 1,400 meters of piping of adequate diameter, designed to guarantee optimal flow and pressure levels with a budget of nearly 80 million pesos.
This intervention is developed based on technical studies carried out by EDOS technical personnel, complemented by previous tasks performed during the year, such as connections to main pipes and the regulation and replacement of strategic valves. The work will not only benefit the residents of Pampa Soler, but will also improve the operation of the water network in the La Bianca neighborhood, to which it is interconnected.
Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the impact of this investment that comes to provide answers to a historical demand: “This is part of a 200 million peso investment that we are making in different parts of the city such as in the Los Pájaros neighborhood, Llamarada neighborhood and Las Viñas and, in this case, with this work that will improve the supply of Pampa Soler and part of the La Bianca neighborhood. It was something that the residents have been asking for a long time since they have had problems with the provision of drinking water for many years”.
For his part, the EDOS comptroller, Javier del Cerro, detailed that it is a work that had been scheduled for some time and that is being executed with own resources, personnel and machinery. “This intervention has a budget of around 80 million pesos that contemplates not only the extension of the network but also complementary works such as the crossing of Avenida Independencia. Starting next week, residents will see the benefit of having more water pressure”.
The head of the EDOS Studies and Projects area, Nicolás Leal, explained that said intervention consists of the extension of approximately 1400 meters of 160 PVC piping, supplying a large part of what is the Pampa Soler neighborhood and other peripheral neighborhoods. Mainly, this project arises from an analysis by the Sanitary Works technical area that was carried out during the winter season. There, very low pressures were confirmed throughout the Pampa Soler neighborhood, in addition to the lack of basic infrastructure.”
