The Secretariat of Productive Development of the Municipality of Concordia, together with the Huerta Niño Foundation, will carry out a series of informative meetings at different Child Development Centers (CDI) in the city, within the framework of the “Huerta Escuela” program, a proposal that seeks to promote learning, healthy eating, and community work through the creation of vegetable gardens.
The initiative is also being developed within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, promoting actions that strengthen environmental education, community participation, and sustainable development in different neighborhoods of the city.
The activities will be aimed at families, teachers, and the educational community, with the objective of presenting the operation of the program and accompanying participants in the process of creating and caring for vegetable gardens in the CDIs.
The scheduled program is as follows:
CDI Osvaldo Magnasco “Arandanitos”: Friday, May 22 at 1:30 PM.
CDI Barrio Legerén “Rincón de Luz”: Tuesday, May 26 at 2:00 PM.
During the meetings, the program team will provide informative talks to explain the stages of the project, the work methodology, and the ways for families to participate.
The Secretary of Productive Development, Sebastián Aristide, highlighted the importance of creating these spaces for training and community participation: “We believe that the vegetable garden is a very valuable educational tool because it teaches healthy habits, care for the environment, and teamwork from an early age. We want families to be protagonists of this process and accompany children in an experience that leaves lifelong lessons.”
Likewise, he pointed out that the joint work with the Huerta Niño Foundation allows for the strengthening of public policies linked to sustainable production and environmental education. “These projects generate community, promote values, and bring practical knowledge that can also be replicated in each home,” added Arístide.
The organization invites all families and members of the educational community to participate in the meetings and join this initiative that seeks to grow healthy food, strengthen the bond with the environment, and foster collective commitment.
