She paraded at the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" Corsódromo and is now competing to be one of the "Muses" of the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro. The Concordia native Antonella Pajares is a candidate to be one of the dancers selected to parade at the Marqués de Sapucaí Sambadrome, and she needs everyone's vote to achieve this dream.
She was born in Concordia and studied law in Córdoba. She currently works in the Judiciary, and within her artistic side, her great passion is dance, mainly Samba, although she also enjoys painting. Now she wants to achieve a great dream: to be a "Muse of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival".
In 2017, Antonella was a member of the support squad for the Emperatriz drum section. "It was a spectacular experience," she asserts. And it is that experience, plus what she added in Córdoba, that leads her today to be competing for a spot in the most famous Carnival in the world.
The Concordia dancer was selected within the international contest "Musa Alegría da Zona Sul", organized by the samba school “Alegría da Zona Sul” of Rio de Janeiro. She is in the final stage of the contest, and by supporting her with a vote through social media, she can become one of the Muses during the school's passage through the Marqués de Sapucaí Sambadrome. In comparison with the Concordia Carnival, Antonella explained that the Muses would be the opening squad, who make their way through the sambadrome alone, opening a squad or a float.
While she was pursuing her university studies in Córdoba, she joined as a dancer in the First Samba School of Córdoba, UNIÃO DA SERRA. "When the dance troupe began to be formed in Córdoba, the girls in charge started holding workshops with dancers from Rio de Janeiro who gave us classes, and that's how we made friends and learned more about the culture of carnaval", says Antonella. That was how, in 2018, the dancers from the Córdoba samba school danced for the first time in the Rio de Janeiro Sambadrome.
Later, the Concordia native received an invitation from Alex Coutiño, choreographer of the Alegría da Zona Sul school and the Tuiuti school, runner-up of the carnaval Brazilian, to participate in the contest through which the Muse will be chosen, and in which girls from Finland, Spain, and the United States, among other countries, are participating.
Through the Facebook page "Passistas Internacionais in Rio de Janeiro 2019" you can see the videos of all the contestants and vote with a "Like" and a share of Anto's video, so that she can move on to the next phase of the contest, which will be in person in Rio. Regarding her expectations for the international contest, she stated that “my engine is always to learn, I want to keep learning, I love doing it, and the best way is by participating in these contests,” emphasizing that “I like to relate to the roots of this culture."
Although she will not be part of the festivities at the "Atanasio Bonfiglio" in the 2019 edition of the Concordia Carnival, due to the time and preparations that her participation in the international contest entails, the young woman expressed her desire to "be able to dance to share my passion with any of the spectacular drum sections that are here in Concordia."
To conclude, and after asking for everyone's support with a "Like," Antonella gave a warm message, pointing out that "do not stop doing the things you like, always seek to fulfill those goals and break prejudices," highlighting that "always try to learn with respect, especially in the world of carnival, which is a very rich culture and has much to teach."
