Stones, sequins, immense backpieces and headdresses covered in feathers, eyeshadow, lipstick, and a unique carnival charisma fused with an elegance that leaves spectators stunned, are the essential ingredients that envelop the ambassadors of each Concordia carnival troupe.
According to the tradition of the greatest festival in the city of Concordia, the figure of the Ambassador fulfills the difficult role of leading the passage of her troupe through the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” Corsódromo, announcing the group's deployment along the local avenue. Also, in many cases, it is customary for the troupe queen of one edition to be the ambassador in the following edition.
The Ambassadors of each carnival group stand out for exhibiting imposing costumes that can be seen from meters away and generally perform a choreography showing skill in their dance and samba, without forgetting to perform bows that announce the arrival of their troupe.
On some occasions, the Concordia carnival troupes choose to have this prominent figure work in conjunction with the Carnival Troupe Front Commission, whose role is to dramatize, during their performance on the Corsódromo track, the story that will later be told throughout the entire troupe.
The young dancers who captivate spectators with their dance skills and charisma stole the press covers with their perfect costumes and beautified the passage of each of the troupes on this first night of carnival.
Ivana Coduri (Imperio), Florencia Stanghelini (Emperatriz), Victoria Carballo (Ráfaga) and María Fernandez (Bella Samba) are the ambassadors of the four competing groups, and one of them will be the successor to Valentina Alanis.
This Saturday, February 2, the Carnival of Concordia parades continue, with the presentation of Imperio, Bella Samba, Ráfaga and Emperatriz, in that order. Tickets, chairs and tables for the VIP sector are on sale at www.concordiacarnaval.com.ar, where they can be paid for with credit cards.
