Every Saturday the Battle of the Passions is experienced and the four comparsas compete for the crown. But all the carnival participants know that beyond the competition, the differences, and the heart that beats for one group or another, they are united by a unique passion. A Carnival that has its own identity, and that is built with the contribution of each artist, of each resident of Concordia, of each comparsa. Thus, four composers from each of the carnival groups came together and gave life to "Somos Pasión", which will be the official song of the Carnival of Concordia and will be played this coming Saturday for the first time on the Corsódromo track.
"We discussed the idea, the proposal was put together, and everyone accepted the invitation to compose a song together that tells of all this passion that the carnival participants live and that spreads joy to so many residents of Concordia and tourists," said the Executive Director of the Carnival Entity, Sebastián Cuberli, regarding this. "Our carnival has been growing a lot and has no ceiling. This year, based on the decision made by the mayor Enrique Cresto, it was successfully established at a national level, and today we have visitors every Saturday from different cities in the country, who come to experience this popular festival. We wanted to have a song that speaks of all the comparsas and this beautiful festival. And these great artists did it," he expressed.
Omar Kueider from the Bella Samba comparsa, Waly Garcia from Imperio, Ariel Ávalos from Ráfaga, and Leo Duarte from Emperatriz, began to sketch the verses, to play with the words, to set the rhythm, to hum the melody. And between mates, laughter, and the contribution of each one, "Somos Pasión" was born, a musical theme that reflects the spirit and energy of all the carnival participants who paraded and parade on each night of the carnival, and the joy that is experienced together with each fan base.
The song also includes a well-deserved tribute to a historical reference of our carnivals, such as Atanasio Bonfiglio, a carnival participant at heart whose name the local Corsódromo bears. With this song, so representative of the most passionate carnival in the country, it is demonstrated that the festival is and is made by everyone, that unity strengthens us and identifies us as a Popular Festival.
The message that the song conveys is that we are all part of the carnival, that we must take care of it as an artistic, cultural, and social event, and that despite the competition, respect must always exist, so that the festival continues to grow.
