This Friday, the Security Council, composed of the municipality, security forces, and intermediate institutions of the city, and led by the mayor Enrique Cresto and the Undersecretary of Security Patricia Perez, met with the Minister of Government Mauro Urribarri and the provincial senator Ángel Giano. "Many topics were discussed," the minister reported after the meeting, "a broad agenda based on the results that Concordia has obtained in terms of security," he maintained. The municipal president highlighted "the announcements from the Provincial Government" that were made at the meeting, "in this joint work that we have been carrying out since the first day," expressed Cresto.
The meeting was attended by the Municipal Government Secretary, Martín Santana, representatives of the security forces, and also intermediate institutions and business chambers. "The Security Council meets in the first week of each month, where what has been done is analyzed, follow-up is carried out, and the main topics to work on in the current month are defined," explained the mayor Enrique Cresto in statements to the media.
Regarding the meeting held last Friday, Cresto highlighted the presence of the Minister of Government Mauro Urribarri and the Provincial Senator Ángel Giano, who "brought announcements from the provincial Government, many linked to the issues that had been addressed, which demonstrates this joint work that we have been carrying out since the first day."
Announcements from the Ministry of Government
Regarding the topics addressed, Urribarri said that "work was done with a broad agenda, starting from the need for the tenth police station, dividing the jurisdiction of the third police station, for the Toronjal and Nebel neighborhoods. This year all the administrative procedures will be carried out to begin the works," announced the minister. "It was also confirmed that three detachments will come to the city, one of them will be located in the Los Pájaros neighborhood, between the CePLA and the CIC. Another of the topics addressed is the bidding for a new pavilion for fifty people" at the UP3, "because the intention of the provincial government is to adhere in its entirety this year to the Drug Dealing Law."
On the other hand, progress was made in the efforts for the installation of "cameras or domes, at the entrances to the city, to do preliminary work for what will be the 911." This video surveillance system will later be integrated into the 911, it was explained. And "the commitment of the Federal Police to create an anti-narcotics division in the city of Concordia," were some of the main topics addressed in the meeting.
Security Council: a cutting-edge organization
"We celebrate the political decision of the municipality of Concordia to move forward by creating a Security Undersecretariat, to address the issue at a local level and do complementary work with the Province," highlighted Mauro Urribarri. "This, together with the articulation from the Security Council, makes our work much easier, because we believe that citizen participation in this sensitive issue for the people of Entre Ríos is fundamental, to achieve a joint approach by the Nation, Province, and Municipality," expressed the Minister of Government.
For his part, Senator Ángel Giano maintained that "the Security Council of Concordia is at the forefront of the entire province; with the undersecretary of security leading it, with the participation of all institutions, which allows the minister to come and make announcements that come to resolve old demands," he expressed.
The Security Council "allows for channeling demands, and not having the different actors go through the media because they cannot find a way to make their proposals. This strengthens the relationship of civil society with the State and the Government," highlighted the legislator. "It is important that it serves as an example to be replicated in other cities of the province," he noted.
Finally, the municipal president thanked Urribarri and Giano for their presence, highlighting "that they were able to participate in the Council meeting, which strengthens the work we are doing together, and shows the clear commitment of both the provincial Executive and the Legislature to advance in policies that provide solutions to the residents' demands," concluded Cresto.
