Mayor Francisco Azcué, accompanied by provincial and municipal authorities, as well as representatives of the region's citrus and productive sector, inaugurated this Friday night the 47th National Citrus Festival, which is taking place at the “Viñedos Moulins” Central Park until next Sunday.
Prior to the ribbon-cutting, Azcué stated that "this festival celebrates and commemorates our identity. Citriculture represents much more than our productive matrix; it is our DNA, it is the strength of the growth and development of Concordia".
"We are clear about our direction, which is why, together with Governor Rogelio Frigerio, we are creating conditions for the private sector to decide to invest and for us to become a city of progress once again," highlighted Azcué, who added that among other measures already implemented, the Tax ordinance will be discussed next week at the Deliberative Council, which includes significant reductions for the benefit of the private sector.
Finally, and after expressing his support for the labor reform promoted by the national government, Azcué stressed that "those who take risks and invest are the private sector; they are the engine of development and we are here to support them".
WORK, HISTORY AND IDENTITY
The president of the Citrus Growers Association, Orlando Malvasio, maintained that "we celebrate the work, history, and identity of one of the most important activities in the region," recognizing in it the constant work and commitment of producers, entrepreneurs, and families. Citriculture integrates us all: from those who work the land to those who export and commercialize our fruits".
Malvasio also thanked the Municipality of Concordia and the Provincial Government for their permanent support in the fight against HLB.
Sofía Camino, ambassador of the National Citrus Festival, for her part, wished that "together we honor this tradition, our identity, and our history".
