This Friday night, the inauguration of the XXXIIII Provincial Immigrant Festival took place, which will be held this weekend at the Parque Central Viñedos Moulins.
A gastronomic courtyard with traditional food, live shows, the election of the Queen, and the traditional parade are some of the activities that will take place this Saturday and Sunday, with free and open access.
Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the effort and joint work carried out to maintain and carry forward a festival "that transcends us and has to do with our identity, which was built with the customs that our immigrants brought and that were passed down from generation to generation".
"In addition to the traditional food, the dances, and what each community represents, there is a lot here of the values, culture, and teachings of those who chose these lands to work, live, and develop," remarked Azcué.
Yamile Latour, president of Inmigrantes Unidos de Concordia, highlighted that "behind every flag, every community, and every traditional dish, there is a lot of work to keep our customs alive, which is why we invite everyone to join us and be part of our festival".
Finally, the current Queen, Jazmín Busto Famularo, maintained that "during this year I learned that beyond what we can share in these three days, it is our way of remembering where we come from, of valuing those who traveled to get here, and of keeping that history alive among us".
