Concordia is one of the 12 cities selected to join the Coalition of Cities for Artificial Intelligence in Argentina (CIIAR Argentina). This initiative is part of the GovTech Connect project by BID Lab and the Local Innovation Network (RIL), positioning the municipality at the forefront of innovation and digital transformation in public management under a regional approach of public-private articulation.
CIIAR Argentina is a network of local governments dedicated to accelerating the strategic use of emerging technologies, strengthening local capacities, and promoting digital solutions together with govtech startups that improve public services. It arises from the drive of a network of governments committed to the ethical and responsible promotion and application of artificial intelligence (AI) to transform cities into smarter, more inclusive, and sustainable spaces together with the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.
The selection of Concordia was the result of a rigorous selection process carried out by an Evaluation Committee, composed of the mayors of the founding cities of CIIAR and the technical teams of RIL and BID Lab. This process culminated in the designation of 12 Argentine municipalities that demonstrated a high level of institutional maturity and a firm commitment to innovation and public-private articulation.
As a member of CIIAR Argentina, the municipality will benefit from:
Technical support for the generation of AI incorporation strategies under a public-private articulation approach.
Collective learning spaces with other local governments in the region (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay).
Linkage with technological solutions developed by GovTech startups for local governments.
Tools to strengthen internal capacities in innovation, public procurement, and the incorporation of emerging technologies.
The municipalities that will join CIIAR Argentina during 2026 are: Concordia, General Pico, General Roca, General San Martín, Luján de Cuyo, Rafaela, Río Cuarto, San Juan, San Miguel, San Vicente, Vicente López, and Yerba Buena; which join those already present: Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, Salta, San Miguel de Tucumán, San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Neuquén, Tres de Febrero, Escobar, and Pilar.
These municipalities will also form a regional network together with 30 other local governments from Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay that promote the use of new technologies to improve public services under a public-private articulation approach.
The incorporation of Concordia into CIIAR Argentina reinforces the municipality's commitment to constant innovation and the search for tools that improve the quality of life of its residents, leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence and the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.
