During this past Tuesday, Concordia hosted the Training and Certification for Practical Motorcycle Instructors and Evaluators from License Issuance Centers, a training session promoted by the National Road Safety Agency, with the objective of unifying the criteria for theoretical and practical training and evaluation of agents who perform duties in the license issuance centers of the province of Entre Ríos.
The activity took place at the Convention Center and brought together representatives from the municipalities of Chajarí, Colonia Ayuí, Estancia Grande, Federación, Federal, General Campos, La Criolla, Los Charrúas, Los Conquistadores, Puerto Yeruá, San Jaime de la Frontera, San José de Feliciano, San Salvador, Santa Ana, Villa del Rosario, and Concordia.
During the day, participants received intensive training on theoretical and practical content related to safe motorcycle riding. The program included techniques for posture and correct helmet use, slalom exercises, braking, cornering and swerving, blind spots, track evaluation, a theoretical exam, and a final practical evaluation session through simulations.
Esperanza Ríos, a member of the Road Education Department of the Traffic and Transportation Directorate of the Municipality of Concordia, stated that “these training sessions and exams, both theoretical and practical, take place at a national level and help us to transfer all the knowledge to the residents with the goal of having fewer and fewer road accidents. It was important to be able to meet with colleagues from different places to unify those criteria that we later transfer to society.”
For her part, Malvina Franco, a road instructor for the Municipality of Federación, valued the opportunity to train those who fulfill the role of trainers, stressing that “for us as driving instructors, it is very useful. We have been working in this field for six years and this is the first time that we have had the opportunity to be trained ourselves. We celebrate these instances.”
Alejandro Velida, representative of the Road Agency of the Municipality of Colonia Ayuí, stated that “it is the first time I have had the opportunity to participate in vehicle training sessions. I value the willingness of the national agents who have come to provide us with their knowledge and, at the same time, it is pleasant to be able to share these sessions with colleagues from the region, which is beneficial for everyone.”
In addition to strengthening the capabilities of the agents in charge of issuing driver's licenses, the training allowed for the exchange of experiences between municipalities and progress in the unification of criteria for the training of future motorcyclists, with the purpose of improving road safety throughout the province.
