The Secretary of Productive Development of the Municipality of Concordia, Sebastián Arístide, participated in the inauguration of the Northern Horticultural Center in the city of Salto, Oriental Republic of Uruguay, a strategic project aimed at boosting the production, commercialization, and logistics of the fruit and vegetable sector for the entire region.
The activity was led by the President of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, together with national and departmental authorities and representatives of horticultural producers, in a space designed to improve the conditions for the commercialization, storage, and distribution of fruits and vegetables from northern Uruguay.
In this context, Arístide highlighted the importance of learning from successful experiences in productive integration and strategic planning that allow for strengthening the development of the sector in Concordia and the region. “There is much to learn from these processes that arise from joint work between the State, producers, and institutions. These are examples that invite us to think about long-term public policies to support the growth of our regional economies,” he stated.
The visit is part of a cooperation and exchange agenda that the Municipality of Concordia has been promoting with organizations, producers, and governments in the region, with the aim of generating tools that improve competitiveness, promote value-added, and strengthen commercialization chains linked to horticultural production.
The Secretariat of Productive Development emphasized that the experience of the Northern Horticultural Center constitutes a model of public-private articulation that contributes to the organization of the activity, logistical optimization, and the generation of new opportunities for producers, aspects that are of great interest for the productive development of Concordia and the entire Salto Grande region.
Likewise, the importance of continuing to strengthen spaces for regional integration was highlighted, promoting the exchange of experiences and the construction of initiatives that favor economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development on both sides of the Uruguay River.
