This Thursday began the First Meeting on Pitayas, a training proposal that combines technical activities and field workshops, providing practical and updated tools for those who wish to start or strengthen their production.
The first day was held at the Vivero Zordan in Colonia Ayuí, with presentations and training sessions where producers, entrepreneurs, and interested members of the public learned about topics such as variety selection, planting techniques, crop management, harvesting, frost control, covering, and marketing strategies.
During the opening, the presence of national and international speakers was highlighted, as well as the broad participation of attendees from Concordia and other areas of the region, interested in learning more about this exotic fruit and its productive potential.
In this regard, the Secretary of Productive Development of the Municipality of Concordia, Federico Schattenhofer, stated that “I observed a lot of satisfaction and interest in the public, taking into account that it is the first time that a day of these characteristics is held in Concordia, where not only theory is being seen but also the field, the plantations, and the entire process of this new production that is on the rise were toured”.
Along those lines, he highlighted the quality and level of the speakers: “We have trainers from Paraguay, Brazil, Peru, as well as producers from the region and neighboring provinces. Everyone is interested in this new variety of production that is emerging and has very good potential”.
Schattenhofer remarked that “the premise of the mayor Francisco Azcué is to articulate and strengthen work with the private, academic, and institutional sectors. The State is here to accompany and facilitate tools that favor production, as in this case, with a product that makes us competitive and inserts us into a new market”.
The First Meeting on Pitayas continues this Friday, March 6, at Fincris Agro SRL, in Osvaldo Magnasco.
