In Concordia, technology and knowledge economy companies that register in the Municipal Registry of Knowledge Economy Companies (REC) obtain a full exemption from the Commercial municipal tax and the General Real Estate municipal tax for 5 years, with the option to extend for 5 more years.
The regulation, promoted by the Municipality of Concordia, favors investment, development, job creation and the establishment of technology companies in the city. Currently, there are already 4 companies established in the city that have joined.
Those benefits were accessed by the firm Xenom S.R.L., a technology-based company that develops advanced software, artificial intelligence, and process automation solutions designed specifically for the digital transformation of productive organizations.
After highlighting the scope of joining the Municipal Registry of Knowledge Economy Companies, the mayor Francisco Azcué stated that the goal is to “generate better conditions so that companies have an incentive to continue growing, investing, developing their products, but also creating jobs”.
Currently, in Concordia, several companies have already joined, which demonstrates the growth of a sector that is directly related to “the economy or the knowledge industry, where companies that develop programs, software, robotics, artificial intelligence and the State are articulated, generating these conditions” maintained Azcué.
For his part, the director of Xenom, Santiago Albarenque, stated that “for us, having a tax exemption is very important, since we are a company that is starting its activities”.
In that sense, the entrepreneur highlighted that the firm's objective is also related to the human capital trained in the city: “our idea when we started is precisely to be able to use all this potential of young people who are here today, who normally end up working for other places. Our main vision was to be able to hire local resources and the truth is that it is giving us a very interesting experience”.
