This Tuesday, the official ceremony for the Day of the Argentine Naval Prefecture was held at the Salto Grande dam, where the oath of allegiance to the flag by the 33rd class of the 2025 Basic Training Center for Subordinate Personnel also took place.
The ceremony was led by Prefect Andrés Leonardo Aguirre, head of the Salto Grande dam Prefecture, who was accompanied by the head of the Concordia Prefecture, Prefect Jorge Horacio Ribinski, and, representing the mayor Francisco Azcué, Vice-mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza.
In addition, awards were presented to retired prefects for their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Vice-mayor Magdalena Reta de Urquiza highlighted the role that the institution plays in our city, since Concordia “was born and developed on the banks of the Uruguay River, which is why the Prefecture is very important to us. Its presence and work go beyond the mission itself, and that is something the community values.”
Prefect Aguirre stated that “we are celebrating the 215th anniversary of the Argentine Naval Prefecture with mixed feelings because of everything it signifies. Being a member of the Prefecture is a lifestyle, and in my case, I have dedicated my life to serving the institution since I was 17 years old.”
For his part, Prefect Ribinski highlighted that “from the Prefecture, we carry the values of the Nation in our souls; in this case, we are already leading and training future prefects.”
Also present were the Undersecretary of Education and Culture Carlos Gatto; retired Prefecture personnel; members of the Armed Forces and Security Forces; and the general public.
