On Monday morning, at the Paseo del Bicentenario, led by mayor Francisco Azcué, the commemorative ceremony for the 213th anniversary of the creation of the Argentine National Anthem was held.
With the presence of municipal officials, educational institutions, intermediate entities, council members, and the general public, the national song was performed by the Band of the 6th Tank Cavalry Regiment “Blandengues”, conducted by First Lieutenant Carlos Guillén, who provided a review and an allusive explanation of the work by Vicente López y Planes and Blas Parera.
The mayor Azcué highlighted that the anthem “is one of the most important national symbols we have, which is why we find it important to pay tribute to it in order to instill respect and patriotic vocation in young people. This is a contribution for all citizens because I am interested in young people learning and understanding that we can all carry that patriotic spirit which is as necessary as the vocation of service and that motto of being willing to give everything for our homeland, which is what will help us move forward”.
Participating in the ceremony were Primary School No. 57 “Belgrano”; Primary School No. 44 “Mariano Moreno”; Primary School No. 42 “General Belgrano”; Primary School No. 18 “El Aconcagua”; School No. 15 “Domingo Faustino Sarmiento”; Secondary School No. 1 “Cesáreo Bernaldo de Quirós” and Secondary School No. 16 “Profesor Gerardo Victorín”.
