The Municipality of Concordia, through the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, is preparing a special day to celebrate Retiree's Day, with a proposal that combines music, dance, recreation, and gathering among the city's older adults.
The event will take place on Tuesday, September 22, starting at 3:00 PM, at the Concordia Convention Center, located at 101 San Lorenzo Oeste.
The celebration will feature the participation of various retiree centers and local artists, who will be the protagonists of an afternoon designed for sharing and enjoyment. The program will include a performance by the Andrade Retiree Center Choir, a tango demonstration by María Noemí Oneto and Luis Humere, the Plaza Sol Retiree Center Choir, directed by Professor Marcos Gowda, and performances by Mari Ferreyra, Tati Merele, and Toto Barboza.
There will also be a Yoga Mantra presentation, led by Marisa Barbieri, Alejandra Schiebert, and Abigail Zapata.
The day will also include moments of participation and recreation, with raffles and a best costume contest, a proposal that seeks to add fun and create a space for gathering among those who attend.
HEALTH, TRADES, AND PARTICIPATION
As part of the activity, there will be a stand for the Saddlery Workshop, led by Professor Ulises Mussuliotis, where the work carried out within the framework of this proposal can be viewed.
In addition, the Health Secretariat will provide a vaccination stand, led by Lic. Melina Simonetti, to offer information and guidance to older adults.
The head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Portugal, highlighted that “the idea is to celebrate this date by placing our older adults at the center, creating a space where they can meet, share, and enjoy what represents them.”
“We want it to be an afternoon of joy and participation, where retiree centers, artists, and workshops have their place and where every person who participates can feel part of this celebration,” she added.
The activity will conclude with a joint closing and is scheduled to last until 6:30 PM.
