In the framework of the 216th Anniversary of the May Revolution, the Municipality of Concordia invites the community to participate in the Patriotic Festival: “Roots of May: Identity that Unites Us”, which will take place next Sunday, May 24th, starting at 2:00 PM, at Av. Carriego (Costanera), in an open gathering intended for all residents.
On this occasion, and with the objective of creating a broader, more participatory space closer to the community, an outdoor festival format is proposed, which will allow sharing the patriotic commemoration through collective gathering, music, and dance. Activities will begin at 2:00 PM, on Av. Carriego, between Avenida de los Pueblos Originarios and Moreno.
The festival will feature a lineup of eleven local live artists, with a folk base, and the participation of ballet groups that will accompany each performance, in a journey that will highlight the different cultural expressions that are part of our identity.
Likewise, from the early hours of noon, a gastronomic space will be available, designed so that residents can come to have lunch and enjoy a full day with their families, accompanying the cultural proposal throughout the afternoon.
Under the conceptual axis of recognizing the May Revolution as the starting point of a historical process, the proposal invites reflection on the construction of national identity, understood as a living expression that is nourished by the cultural diversity of our country.
In that same sense, the celebration is also projected towards the path that Concordia is traveling towards its 200 years of history, understanding that the spirit of May, marked by participation, commitment, and collective construction, continues to be a guide today for thinking about the development of the city. At the gates of the Bicentennial, these instances of gathering not only recover our roots, but also strengthen a common identity oriented towards the future.
