With its own resources and within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, the Municipality of Concordia will carry out a new paving stage. It involves 34 blocks, with a budget exceeding 2.6 billion pesos.
The project aims to improve road infrastructure and basic sanitation in various sectors of the city; optimize urban traffic, guarantee road safety, and ensure the efficiency of public services through the systematization of storm drains and the renewal of water and sewage networks.
In the initial phase, the renewal of basic infrastructure networks will be carried out: replacement of drinking water pipes and the sewage collection network, including all household connections.
Once the sanitation tasks are completed, paving works will be executed, in addition to the reconstruction of curbs and gutters, which are currently in poor condition, and the construction of curbs, gutters, and drainage dips on streets that currently lack such infrastructure.
This second stage includes the paving of the following streets: San Juan Street between M. Arruabarrena Street and Etchevehere Street; Etchevehere Street between San Juan Street and H. Yrigoyen Street; Hipólito Yrigoyen Street between Etchevehere Street and O'Connor Street; O'Connor Street between Hipólito Yrigoyen Street and Eva Perón Avenue; Belgrano Street between San Lorenzo Avenue and Salto Uruguayo Street; 6 de Caballería Street between San Lorenzo Avenue and Chabrillón.
This morning, the opening of bids for the tender took place, with the presence of the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel, who indicated that “with this, we finish closing the second stage of the 103 blocks of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial”.
The first stage is already underway “and now, with this second call, we are adding an important group of blocks for the residents of the northeast area, who will benefit from general infrastructure works such as storm drains, sewers, curbs, gutters, water networks, and a complete renewal of everything that is the infrastructure remaining under the asphalt”.
Three bids were submitted for the tender, belonging to the firms Vecchio S.R.L., Piuterra S.A., and José Eleuterio Pitón S.A.
