The Municipality of Concordia, through the Secretariat of Health and in coordination with other areas, carried out a series of refurbishment and enhancement works at the “Leoncio de Luque” Health Center, with the aim of improving care conditions for residents and working conditions for health personnel.
Mayor Francisco Azcué, who toured the facilities this morning, highlighted the importance of the work done: “We are focused on this, on working and investing in municipal spaces, the spaces that residents use. This Health Center is very important for the neighborhood because it also helps to decongest the Masvernat hospital. We decided to invest resources in infrastructure works in a complex economic context, taking care of every peso so that it has a full impact on the lives of the residents”.
For his part, the Secretary of Health, Diego Sauré, stated that “this was a pending request since 2021. This Health Center handles more than 350 medical consultations and 800 nursing consultations per month. Serious work was done, with the municipality's own resources, because we believe that we must be efficient with people's money”.
In turn, the Director of Primary Health Care, Dr. Karina Greco, highlighted that “the Leoncio de Luque Health Center has all specialties: pediatrics, internal medicine, kinesiology, dentistry, obstetrics, which allows us to work in coordination with the hospital and provide comprehensive care to the community”.
In addition to the works, as of this Monday the Health Center has a defibrillator (AED).
IMPROVEMENTS
The work carried out includes the complete refurbishment of the floors in bathrooms and hallways, which optimized internal traffic, reduced the risk of accidents, and facilitated cleaning tasks. In addition, the installation of a sewage network with connection to the system was completed, which represented a fundamental advance in terms of hygiene and general operation.
New sanitary fixtures were also installed, the water tank was replaced, and an adequate drinking water network was installed, thus guaranteeing a safe and continuous supply, both for consumption and hygiene.
Added to these improvements were the replacement of the main entrance door and the replacement of the deteriorated ceilings, improving the building conditions, security, and lighting of the establishment.
