This Wednesday, the opening of bids for the public tender for the enhancement of Plaza Zorraquín, located in the Lezca neighborhood of our city, took place. The project, which is included in the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, will be executed with own funds, with a budget of 140 million pesos.
Prior to this, a meeting was held with the local residents, in which the Secretary of Government Luciano Dell'Olio and the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel participated, where they were informed about the scope of the project and what is planned for the site.
The objective is to revalue the public space through design, art, and participation. The restoration of the central monument is contemplated; modern furniture, warm lighting, and native vegetation; artistic interventions, mosaic work, and inclusive playground equipment - soft play area. The “Adopt your plaza” program is also contemplated, through which residents and educational establishments will participate.
Esquibel highlighted that “it is a plaza that we have worked on a lot with the residents, we have listened to them, analyzed their concerns, and we are bringing a technical and architectural proposal of high value, at the level of urban revaluation”.
Regarding the works, the Secretary of Public Works detailed that “it is a complete revitalization of what the plaza is, which includes play areas, lighting, parks, and gardens, involving several areas of the Municipality. We want to achieve a synergy effect that improves and beautifies the entire area. It is a project that will be carried out one hundred percent with municipal funds,” pointed out Esquibel.
Among other actions, a complete cleaning of the plaza will be carried out; painting work; existing playground equipment will be repaired to leave them in working order; the central fountain, known as “octopus”, will be restored, reactivating the hydraulic system, and the flowerbed benches will be restored.
Five bids were submitted for the call for tenders, belonging to the firms Haure Carlos Alberto; CODI S.R.L.; INCAR S.A.; COCCO Construcciones S.R.L.; Chezzi Eduardo Marcelo.
