The Municipality of Concordia, through “Mi Cuadra PROGR.E.S.S.A.”, an urban development and neighborhood infrastructure program designed under a solidarity self-financing model with the residents, is carrying out paving works on Victorino Simón Oeste street, between Chabrillón and República del Brasil.
Through this program, residents reach an agreement, come to the Municipality to receive technical advice, and move forward together with the financing and execution of the work, which may include curb and gutter, asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, articulated concrete, and lighting improvements.
“With a presence in different neighborhoods, we continue with the works of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial. In this particular case, we are doing it together with the residents through the ‘Mi Cuadra PROGR.E.S.S.A.’ Program, where they finance the concrete and the Municipality carries out the work with its own resources and labor,” highlighted the mayor Francisco Azcué.
Regarding this sector of the city, the northeast zone, the mayor maintained that there are several interventions being carried out “that are improving the quality of life for the residents. Here, they reached an agreement, approached the Municipality, we worked on the project together, and today it is already being executed.”
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, explained that once the residents' request was submitted, “the Engineering Department carried out the technical analysis and the best option was to make a concrete slab. We worked with municipal machinery and workers to carry out the complete intervention of this block, which we hope, weather permitting, will be finished next week.”
In addition to the paving, the Municipality will build a parking area on Victorino Simón Oeste street, near Chabrillón, to facilitate traffic and vehicle parking in the area.
