This Tuesday, the first arrival and departure of the commercial flight service by the company Humming Airways was recorded, connecting the “Comodoro JJ Pierrestegui” Airport with the “Jorge Newbery” Aeroparque.
The inaugural flight departed shortly after 10:15 a.m. from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, arriving in our city past 11 a.m. with a full passenger load, who were received by the authorities of the Concordia Airport Aerocommercial Development Entity (EDAAC) and staff from the Undersecretariat of Tourism.
Federico Schattenhofer, president of the EDAAC, expressed his satisfaction that the arrival of the first commercial flight in more than a decade had been achieved, for which he thanked each of the actors in the public and private sectors for having dedicated their time to make this happen.
“Our wish is that this is the beginning of the growth of one of the tools we have for the development of the region. Having an airport with these characteristics and starting commercial flights, in addition to private ones, the expectations are high,” stated Schattenhofer.
For his part, Francisco Errecart, CEO of Humming Airways, who was among the passengers, first maintained the peace of mind that everything had proceeded normally, “having a flight of approximately 45 minutes. We were accompanied by several clients who will be flying every week and for us, it is extremely positive.”
After indicating that it is important for Humming to be able to establish this route, complying with all regulations and operational aspects, Errecart recalled that the next flight is on Thursday, December 4, taking off from Buenos Aires at 5:00 p.m. and arriving in Concordia at 5:50 p.m. to depart from our city at 6:50 p.m. and land at Aeroparque at 7:05 p.m.
Among the crew of this first commercial flight was the president of the Argentine Delegation to the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande, Ambassador Alejandro Daneri, who stated that “the flight was excellent and that has a lot to do with the prior organization as well. The speed with which one can board, depart, save time, and be here in Concordia is fantastic.”
Claudia, another passenger who disembarked from this first commercial flight, expressed her joy at “being able to be in Concordia, at this airport that has turned out brilliant and beautiful; we had been waiting for it for a long time.”
