During this morning, the mayor Francisco Azcué was touring the works that marked the beginning of the repaving project on Ricardo Rojas street, between Concejal Veiga and Diamante streets.
With own funds and within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial carried out by the Municipality of Concordia, in the first instance, the renovation of the drinking water pipeline, with its respective household connections, and the sewage network is being carried out. It also includes the installation of valves for pressure regulation in the network, thus managing to improve the service for users in the intervened sector.
During the tour, Azcué, who was accompanied by the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel and the Undersecretary of Public Works Mateo Sastre, highlighted that the interventions are part of the largest works plan executed by the administration with municipal resources “where these comprehensive works, which remain under the asphalt, are fundamental because they guarantee durability”.
“We are doing the works as they should be done, renewing all the underground infrastructure before paving. The pipes are being changed, quality materials are being incorporated, and then the asphalt is being laid with the appropriate technical characteristics. Our commitment is to do good works so that they last”, affirmed the mayor, who highlighted that this is possible “thanks to the commitment of the taxpayers and having an orderly Municipality”.
For his part, Esquibel explained that in the intervention “all existing infrastructure is being replaced by PVC pipes, providing a comprehensive and quality solution. It is a very important work for one of the main connection routes of the city, allowing for a significant improvement in services and circulation for the residents”.
Once the renovation works of the service networks are concluded, it is planned to carry out the complete reconstruction of the structural package which includes milling of the existing asphalt layer, soil compaction and gutters, to finish with an asphalt layer that will allow not only to improve transitability but also to optimize surface drainage and provide greater safety to users.
