Within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial carried out by the Municipality of Concordia, repaving and pothole repair work has begun on Tavella Street, between San Lorenzo Boulevard and Gregoria Pérez Street.
The intervention includes the complete reconstruction of the structural package in part of the section to be intervened. The work includes milling of the asphalt layer; demolition of repairs made with concrete and the existing speed bump, and the execution of a soil-cement base to finish with a hot asphalt layer.
In addition, the renewal and expansion of water and sewage networks, household connections, and the installation of valves and hydrants are planned.
During a tour of the site, Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the importance of the work for one of the city's areas with the highest traffic: “this intervention is carried out within the framework of the Infrastructure Plan, in a highly trafficked area, with many businesses, where we also have a university and the passage of bus lines. It was imperative to move forward with this work”.
“The work is being carried out according to a plan, with a comprehensive intervention that allows us to ensure that we do not have to break it again in a while. The works in different parts of the city are advancing at a good pace and we are very satisfied with the results”, pointed out Azcué.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, explained that “repaving work is being carried out on the first section of Tavella Street; large-scale pothole repair on the second section that reaches Gregoria Pérez Street. A whole process of re-profiling and cement restitution is done, the bases are treated well, and finally, it is the asphalt paving.”
