This week, the flu vaccination campaign aimed at elderly residents in long-term care institutions in the city of Concordia began. The first day was carried out at the “Casa Grande” Residence, as part of a joint effort between the Municipal Epidemiological Node and the Department of Senior Citizen Policies.
The activity was attended by the Head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Beatriz Portugal, and Nursing Graduate Melina Simonetti, head of the Municipal Epidemiological Node for Immunizations, who led the vaccination operation aimed at the facility's residents.
The municipality highlighted that this initiative aims to reinforce the prevention and health care of older adults, one of the most vulnerable populations to seasonal respiratory diseases.
Likewise, it was reported that the operation will continue to be carried out in all long-term care residences in Concordia, guaranteeing access to the vaccine for those living in these institutions.
In a second stage, as is done every year, the campaign will move to the Civic Center, where an open day will be held for the city's older adult community.
