In the final stretch for the start of the 2019 edition of the biggest summer festival, work is progressing at the “Atanasio Bonfiglio” Corsódromo grounds. While the remodeling of the entrances is being carried out, the assembly of the stands has begun.
The iron structures that will contain all the passion awakened by our Carnival starting January 19th are beginning to rise. The infrastructure that will frame the Corsódromo will consist of 4 general admission stands, a youth box, and the traditional VIP sectors. In addition, a box has been designated for the press and another for the judges who will come to score the competition.
Along with the assembly of the stands, personnel from the Public Services and Public Works departments of the Municipality are carrying out the cleaning and weeding of the grounds, installation of fencing, and internal demarcation, as well as the construction and remodeling of the entrances.
The various works and improvements at the site are part of the project that Mayor Enrique Cresto has been managing to transform the place into the Estación Norte Central Park, as a large green lung and event space for the entire city.
Ticket sales at Caja Mixta
The first night of the Concordia carnival will start on Saturday, January 19th, and the official schedule indicates that January 26th, and the Saturdays of February 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd will be the remaining nights of the most passionate festival in the country. Tickets, chairs, and tables in the VIP sector can be purchased online for any of the six parade nights and paid for with a credit card, at www.concordiacarnaval.com.ar The price of tickets for the first three nights is $150, and for the following three nights is $200.
Regarding this, it is reported that at the Caja Mixta offices, Quintana 68, the service for inquiries and ticket purchases is now enabled for those who do not wish to carry out the transaction online. This service is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
For this Wednesday the 2nd, it was planned to start the ticket exchange process for those who have already purchased them online, but due to operational issues with the transport service during the New Year's holidays, the arrival of all the wristbands was delayed, so the start of the ticket exchange will be from Wednesday, January 9th, during the aforementioned operating hours of the Carnival facility at the Caja Mixta offices.
Participant registration process
Starting this year, an online registration process was implemented for all members (artists, dancers, musicians, float builders) of each Comparsa, which allows for streamlining the entire process. The Carnival Entity, in coordination with the Comparsas, established special days on which the photographic registration of the participants was carried out, which completes the registration form.
For those who did not attend on the agreed days, and especially for those who for different reasons (studies, work, etc.) were not in the city on the date the photographic registration was carried out, the Carnival Entity has arranged that the procedure will be carried out until this Friday, January 4th. Members who have not yet had their photograph taken must go to the offices at the former Estación Norte (San Lorenzo and Gobernador Cresto), between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM to finalize the registration process.
