The Municipality of Concordia carried out a sanitary blockade operation in the Victorino Simón neighborhood, following the detection of a possible chikungunya case.
Preventive actions were carried out jointly by the Health Secretariat, the Extramural Unit, and health promoters from the Masvernat Hospital, with the aim of reducing the risk of disease spread and protecting the community.
The operation covered a total of nine blocks around the residence where the suspected case is located. On-site tasks included fumigation, removal of potential breeding sites, and door-to-door awareness campaigns, informing residents about preventive measures and the importance of eliminating potential Aedes aegypti mosquito breeding grounds.
These tasks were led by the Concordia Health Secretary, Dr. Diego Sauré; the Director of Primary Health Care, Dr. Karina Greco; and the head of the Extramural Unit, Lisa López.
The Health Secretariat reminds residents of the importance of keeping yards clean, eliminating containers with standing water, and allowing access to health and sanitation teams when these types of preventive blockades are carried out.
