The Municipality of Concordia is maintaining a large-scale operation in different sectors of the city to address the consequences of the intense storm recorded during the early hours of Saturday. By order of the mayor Francisco Azcué, all municipal areas continue to work in a coordinated manner to assist affected families, clear public roads, and restore essential services.
From the first hours of the emergency, the mayor led the permanent monitoring of the situation, coordinating actions together with the Operational Committee and the teams from the different municipal secretariats, prioritizing assistance to residents and the recovery of the most affected sectors.
Work is mainly concentrated in Villa Zorraquín, Osvaldo Magnasco, Barrio Golf, Pampa Soler, and La Arrocera, where cleaning tasks, removal of fallen trees and branches, restoration of utility poles, clearing of streets, and recovery of damaged infrastructure continue.
In Pampa Soler, a special operation was deployed with five trucks, a backhoe, and two front-end loaders to restore traffic flow and allow safe access for residents.
Simultaneously, crews from the Secretariat of Public Services are removing trees and branches that obstruct circulation, collaborating in the restoration of utility poles to facilitate the re-establishment of electrical service and public lighting, in addition to carrying out cleaning tasks for storm drains and culverts to improve water drainage.
Tasks will continue throughout the day on Sunday, so the community is requested to avoid traveling through the intervened areas and to respect preventive signage, as heavy machinery, vehicles, and municipal personnel continue to move intensely in those sectors.
ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES
The Undersecretariat of Social Development continues to receive and channel requests for assistance from affected families. By Saturday night, 56 requests from different neighborhoods of the city had been registered, prioritizing the attention of the most vulnerable situations.
To request assistance, the Municipality keeps the WhatsApp number 345 413-2744 enabled. Inquiries can also be made in person at the offices located at Sáenz Peña and La Rioja or at the nearest police station.
DRINKING WATER SERVICE
Regarding the drinking water service, the Decentralized Entity of Sanitary Works (EDOS) reported that the operation of the Water Treatment Plant allowed for the progressive normalization of supply during Saturday afternoon.
However, specific issues persist in sectors where the electrical supply remains interrupted, which prevents the operation of distribution pumps, as is the case in Osvaldo Magnasco. Given this situation, the Municipality guarantees water supply through tanker trucks until energy service is restored.
The comprehensive operation arranged by the Municipality continues with a permanent presence in the affected neighborhoods, articulating the work of all municipal areas to respond to the emergency, recover public spaces, and support residents until the situation is normalized.
