The mayor of Concordia will participate in Panama in a work, training, and exchange experience alongside 25 leaders from Latin America. His participation was selected by the Red de Innovación Local (RIL) and the Centre for Public Impact (CPI), who will cover all travel expenses.
The mayor of Concordia, Francisco Azcué, was one of the 5 leaders in municipal innovation from Argentina chosen by the Red de Innovación Local (RIL) and the Centre for Public Impact (CPI) to participate in the second edition of Mayors + Innovators, an international meeting that will bring together 25 mayors from nine Latin American countries in Panama from August 27 to 29.
Azcué's participation takes place within the framework of a call and selection process carried out by the organizing institutions for the most innovative leaders in Latin America. It is an instance of work, training, and exchange of management experiences, aimed at incorporating new tools and generating cooperation ties with local governments in the region.
The meeting will bring together representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, and Uruguay, with the goal of connecting local leaders with global innovation trends, sharing concrete experiences, and developing tools that can contribute to improving public policies and city management.
A WORK AGENDA FOCUSED ON INNOVATION AND PUBLIC POLICIES
During the experience, participants will work on different approaches and methodologies linked to public innovation, the design of people-centered policies, and the generation of solutions for the challenges currently faced by cities.
The agenda was developed jointly by RIL, CPI, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD), combining the territorial knowledge of local governments with international methodologies and experiences.
Among the program's objectives are the formation of a regional community of mayors who can promote collaborative projects, the knowledge of innovative solutions already being implemented in different cities, and the strengthening of capacities to design and execute higher-impact public policies.
For Concordia, this participation also represents an opportunity to learn about the experiences of other cities, incorporate management tools, and establish ties with governments and organizations that can contribute to the transformation processes that the city is carrying out.
AN EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITY TO STRENGTHEN LOCAL MANAGEMENT
RIL has been working for 12 years on strengthening local leadership and currently connects more than 1,000 local governments from 26 countries, along with more than 100 organizations and a community of more than 10,000 public servants.
For its part, the Centre for Public Impact is a global learning organization that works to build resilient and prosperous societies based on new ways of thinking and developing government action.
Concordia's participation in this international space adds to a management agenda that seeks to incorporate knowledge, professionalize the capacities of the municipal State, and generate new cooperation opportunities to face the city's challenges.
