This week, repaving work began on Ricardo Rojas street, within the framework of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial carried out by the Municipality of Concordia.
The project, which is financed with own resources, covers the section between Concejal Veiga and Diamante streets, where a comprehensive replacement of deteriorated pipes, pressure valves, and residential drinking water and sewage connections was previously carried out, in addition to the reconstruction of gutters and curbs.
Mayor Francisco Azcué was supervising the work, where he mainly highlighted the controls carried out by the Municipality “to verify compliance with the standards established in the specifications when a project is tendered and awarded. We want this to last, so that we do not have to return in a while because something was not done correctly, generating a waste of time and resources that can be allocated to other sectors of the city”.
That is why “prior interventions, which have to do with the sanitation of the networks and residential connections, are important. Here, valves and pipes had to be changed, which remain under the pavement, but which ensure the resident that the service will function as it should”.
Returning to the subject of controls, Azcué remarked: “the people of Concordia must know this. All the material used in each project is checked in laboratories, to have the peace of mind that things were done well, with the resources that enter the Municipality thanks to the commitment that our citizens have”.
Finally, the mayor maintained that “the Infrastructure Plan is being executed as planned and we will continue. The purpose is to change the quality of life for the residents, which is not achieved overnight, but which can be done when there is responsible management of resources”.
