While paving and repaving works are being carried out on Dr. Sauré street, in the section between La Pampa street and Yuquerí boulevard, progress is being made on complementary works consisting of replacements and new connections to the sewage and drinking water networks.
The work is part of the Infrastructure Plan carried out by the Municipality of Concordia, with its own resources and an investment exceeding 480 million pesos.
From the Secretariat of Public Works, Eng. Carla Pagano, Work Inspector, explained that fundamental preliminary tasks for the paving are currently being carried out: “Renovations of sewage connections are being made, for those that were not working or were working poorly, changing the piping, as well as the renovation of water connections.”
This includes replacing existing pipes with others suitable for remaining under the structural package and the pavement, thus guaranteeing their durability. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of regularizing residential water connections “since there were cases that affected the normal supply, such as those that were shared.”
Finally, Pagano indicated that, if no unforeseen events arise, “in a few weeks the new connections should be finished, leaving only those renovations or changes that present problems,” to then advance with the final stages of paving, comprehensively improving transitability and services for the residents of the area.
The work on Dr. Sauré street is divided into two sections: from La Pampa street to Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento, paving will be carried out, while from Paula Albarracín to Yuquerí boulevard, the structural package will be completely rebuilt. In this sector, milling of the existing asphalt layer, corresponding compaction, construction of a soil-cement base, and, finally, the placement of a hot asphalt layer will be executed.
Complementarily, construction and reconstruction work on gutters and curb sections will be carried out, with the aim of improving surface water runoff, in addition to patching specific sectors with concrete and asphalt.
The municipality stressed that each intervention responds to a comprehensive work criterion, prioritizing the quality of materials and correct technical execution to ensure its durability over time. These are not partial solutions, but complete works that allow the road and services to remain in optimal conditions, avoiding future breakages and new interventions, and guaranteeing infrastructure that supports the growth and circulation of the city.
