In front of a prominent audience, the show El Alma Entrerriana, by the renowned musician Antonio Tarragó Ros, was presented this Sunday night at the Convention Center. On this occasion, the artist donated the material of the work to the province, which proposes a journey through the province, through music, history, and identity, and which will become part of the cultural heritage of Entre Ríos.
During the event, Governor Rogelio Frigerio highlighted the artistic and heritage value of the work and thanked the musician for his gesture. "The legacy of El Alma Entrerriana is a kiss to the soul for all of us," and he stressed that it is a project that required "a lot of time, effort, and commitment. We, the people of Entre Ríos, take it as an invaluable cultural legacy. We thank you for it, and so will future generations," he stated.
Likewise, the governor pointed out that "it is an honor to be here accompanying Antonio, a friend and one of the greatest exponents of our popular culture." In that sense, he valued that the artist chose to present the show in Concordia, after his visit to Diamante, and remarked on his commitment to the province and its people.
Frigerio also highlighted the importance of the donation made by the musician. "Antonio had anticipated this decision to me some time ago, and today it finally materializes. I want to deeply thank him for this gesture of generosity, which will allow this cultural heritage to be preserved and shared with future generations of people from Entre Ríos," he maintained.
The work El Alma Entrerriana, presented on Saturday in Diamante and this Sunday in Concordia, proposes a journey through the cultural heritage of the province through the music, history, and identity of Entre Ríos. Tarragó Ros donated this work for its use by the Secretariat of Culture, the General Council of Education, or other organizations that optimize the dissemination of this essential knowledge for the safeguarding of the culture of Entre Ríos. It consists of 48 traditional songs from Entre Ríos, rescued and interpreted only with accordion, guitar, and voice in order to preserve the extreme purity of the genre. It is a cycle of 4 booklets: Flora, Fauna, Birds, Reptiles; and 100 biographies of people from Entre Ríos, heroes, poets, scientists, artists, and legends.
During the show, Tarragó Ros was notified of the passing of Rubén Cuestas, to which he paid tribute live, singing María va. It was a very emotional moment that was accompanied by the audience.
Before the presentation, Antonio Tarragó Ros expressed: "I came to talk about dreams. There are things that one does not control: you cannot choose what to dream or who to fall in love with. I never dreamed that this work, done with much affection and much love to compile all the work from Entre Ríos with which I grew up, could have this significance. It is a tribute to the identity and culture of Entre Ríos, designed to reach the people and remain over time."
Likewise, he highlighted the support of the provincial government to carry out the initiative. "When I told the governor about the work, I asked him how we could make it reach the people. We found a way, and today each program has a QR code so that anyone can download the entire work for free and share it with their family. Thanks to the governor's support, we were able to make this dream a reality and turn it into a cultural legacy for all the people of Entre Ríos."
Meanwhile, the mayor Francisco Azcué expressed: "It is an honor to receive Antonio. I am a fan of Tarragó, I have played that style of chamamé since I was very young and, beyond his status and prestige as an artist, he is a person who has defended and stimulated the identity of Entre Ríos with concrete actions. El Alma Entrerriana is a true marvel as a work of compilation, study, and recording, and I believe that today we are going to experience a very important moment."
