The Municipality of Concordia carried out a new Free Vaccination Day this Tuesday aimed at people over 60 years of age, an initiative organized by the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, under the Undersecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship, in coordination with the Secretariat of Health.
The activity took place in the Labor Training Room of the Civic Center, where residents from different neighborhoods of the city accessed the administration of Tetanus, Pneumococcal, Hepatitis B, and Flu vaccines free of charge, in accordance with the National Vaccination Calendar.
During the day, more than 100 senior citizens participated in the operation, reaffirming the importance of bringing these types of services to the community and promoting preventive health care.
The head of the Department of Senior Citizen Policies, Gladys Beatriz Portugal, highlighted the response from the residents and noted that “each of these days represents an opportunity to bring health care closer to senior citizens, facilitating access to vaccination and promoting active and healthy aging. Seeing the high participation shows us that this joint work is highly valued by the community.”
For her part, Nursing Graduate Melina Simonetti, head of the Municipal Epidemiological Node for Immunizations, stressed the importance of keeping vaccination schedules up to date. “Vaccines are a fundamental tool for preventing diseases and reducing complications, especially in senior citizens. Bringing these operations to the community facilitates access and allows us to continue strengthening prevention and health care,” she stated.
The Municipality of Concordia highlighted the joint work between the Secretariat of Health and the Department of Senior Citizen Policies to continue developing actions that guarantee access to essential services and strengthen public policies aimed at improving the quality of life for senior citizens.
