Last Saturday, the Senior Triathlon began, an initiative organized by the Municipality of Concordia, through the Department of Senior Policies, together with Codesal, with the aim of promoting physical activity, integration, and meetings among older adults.
The first day took place at the Costanera de Concordia, in front of the Prefecture, where participants shared an afternoon of movement, fun, and camaraderie. The activity was led by professor Miguel Pérez Saipe and featured different recreational games and challenges, such as Kösser, Cornhole, and Kubb.
In this regard, Gladys Portugal, head of the Department of Senior Policies, highlighted the importance of creating proposals that allow older people to remain active, share experiences, and strengthen their social ties. In that sense, she pointed out that this type of meeting contributes to comprehensive well-being, promoting participation, recreation, and a healthier life.
The proposal is carried out in pairs and with free registration, creating a space for participation and recreation in which older people can enjoy outdoor activities, strengthen bonds, and share experiences.
The schedule will continue on November 14 and 28, while the last day will take place on December 12, with the closing and the tournament awards ceremony.
Through these types of initiatives, the Municipality continues to promote policies aimed at older people, creating spaces for active participation, promoting healthy habits, and contributing to improving their quality of life.
