THEATER. "THE JULIA CASE". Work in Progress. Sunday, September 14 | 8:00 PM | Pueblo Viejo
The national premiere of the play "The Julia Case," initially scheduled for September 14 at the Pueblo Viejo hall, has been rescheduled for October 19; instead, on that day, September 14, a showcase of the work in progress will be held to be shared with the city's theatrical community.
The show is part of a co-production project involving the cast—composed of performing artists from Bariloche (Río Negro), Paraná, and Concordia (Entre Ríos)—and the Pueblo Viejo Cultural Space in the city of Concordia. The plan submitted in the call for proposals obtained, with an excellent order of merit (4th in the entire country), the support of the National Theater Institute, within its line of Co-productions between casts and venues. However, given the failure to fulfill said commitment by the INT, now dependent on the National Executive Branch, the cast has found it necessary to postpone the premiere in order to have the time needed to redesign a production scheme that allows them to carry out the initiative, assuming the challenge and commitment to move forward with the project. Meanwhile, as a theatrical community, they continue to demand compliance with what the law stipulates.
About the play:
This scenic proposal is framed within testimonial theater, as it takes as a starting point the documented account of a victim of gender-based violence. Exploring the boundaries between reality and fiction, it focuses on human bonds and the various ways of navigating conflictive situations.

Assistant direction is by Yanina Porchetto, and sound design by Desidee. The person responsible for lighting design is Michay Fernández Quintero. Graphic design is by Natalia Hallam.
