The Tahil Mapu Choir, under the Secretariat of Extension and Culture of the National University of Entre Ríos, invites the entire community to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The Choir was founded in 1986 in the city of Concordia, Entre Ríos, under the direction of maestro Eduardo Hernán Gomez until 2010 and the choral assistance of Mario Meichtry. Since 2011, the Choir has been directed by Lic. Leonel Policastro and offers a varied repertoire that includes popular, folk, academic, national, and international music. Over these 40 years, the choral group has toured various stages across the country, Uruguay, Brazil, and Italy.
Currently, the Tahil Mapu (“Song of the Earth” in the Mapuche language) is made up of more than 40 choristers of different ages and musical backgrounds, including students, faculty, and non-teaching staff of the UNER. It is a cultural activity open and free to the entire community.
The celebration concert will take place on Friday, October 16 at 9:00 PM at the UNER Auditorium, Mons. Tavella 1424, Concordia. Former choristers and guest musicians will participate in the evening. Admission is free.
