In a joint operation carried out this past Sunday, in which the Municipal Veterinary Directorate, the Volunteer Firefighters of Concordia, and the Directorate of Prevention and Citizen Security participated, a dog that had been tied up and abandoned on a public street was rescued.
The operation was carried out on Espino Street, between Hipólito Yrigoyen and Pellegrini, in a clear violation of the Animal Abuse Law No. 14.346.
“It is regrettable and reprehensible that these types of actions against animals occur. During the course of this Monday, we will file the corresponding complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office so that the Justice system may intervene. The law is clear: in the event that the person or persons who committed such an act of cruelty are identified, there will be sanctions,” remarked Julio Gesualdi, Director of Municipal Veterinary.
The animal remains temporarily housed at the Municipal Veterinary where it will undergo examinations, routine treatments, and a future adoption will be coordinated.
