The Municipality of Concordia carried out a new Territorial Approach, an initiative that aims to bring the municipal State closer to the neighborhoods and facilitate residents' access to the different services, procedures, and programs provided by the Municipality.
The event took place in the northwest area and brought together residents from the Los Pájaros, Capricornio, Gobernador Cresto, San Jorge, Fátima II, and San Francisco Este and Oeste neighborhoods, who were able to make inquiries, receive advice, and access various municipal services.
During the activity, Mayor Francisco Azcué pointed out that “every month we carry out these approaches where we come with all the areas of the Municipality so that residents, who perhaps cannot reach the offices during the week due to time, work, or distance to carry out procedures or inquiries, can do so on a Saturday.”
“This gives them the possibility to come and do everything in one place and they don't have to go back and forth; here are the Secretariats, Undersecretariats, and Directorates,” stated Azcué, who also remarked that it is important to have “the back-and-forth that is generated, listening to them and providing answers to their demands that, in the event that they cannot be resolved during the approach, are worked on during the week.”
After announcing that there will surely be a new approach before the end of September, probably on the last Saturday of the month, Azcué invited the community to come and be part of the activity, “taking advantage of this possibility that once a month, the entire Municipality arrives at a neighborhood.”
Throughout the day, services and assistance were provided related to health, procedures, documentation, driver's licenses, SUBE card, veterinary care, training on food handling, as well as information and advice on municipal programs and services.
In total, about 400 adult residents approached the SEDRONAR premises in the Los Pájaros neighborhood, of which more than 200 carried out updates and extensions of the SUBE card and 140 took theoretical and practical exams through the Directorate of Traffic and Transportation.
Municipal Veterinary Services performed 32 free castrations and 70 rabies vaccinations.
For its part, the Health area attended to 120 patients, of whom 80 received medication; vaccination schedules were completed and vaccines were administered to 50 patients, and 24 tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) were performed.
In addition, the Bromatology department gave residents the possibility to obtain their food handling cards, an activity in which around 20 people participated since the capacity was limited.
The Municipality of Concordia highlighted that these approaches are part of a policy of proximity and territorial presence, which seeks to strengthen the bond with residents and generate spaces where they can raise their needs and find concrete answers.
