This Friday, a new course on assembling furniture with melamine boards concluded, carried out jointly by the Municipality of Concordia, the Forest Industrial Development Center (CeDeFI), and the company EGGER, in an inter-institutional proposal that coordinated vocational training, labor development, production, and commitment to community institutions.
15 people obtained their certificate, which allows them to continue developing in this trade directly related to the production and use of local raw materials. On this occasion, the furniture made during the course was donated to the Palliative Care Foundation and was custom-made to meet the institution's needs.
During the certificate delivery, mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the possibility of “working jointly with the private sector but also with the city's institutions. We know the importance and the role that the Palliative Care Foundation plays in society, so it fills us with satisfaction that they receive this donation.”
He also highlighted “the opportunity provided to people to be able to train through these types of courses, as well as the others carried out through the Municipality. I congratulate those who participated in this instance and invite the community of Concordia to join, get trained, and also be part of a charitable goal.”
For his part, the Secretary of Productive Development, Sebastián Arístide, pointed out: “we are finishing another edition of the furniture assembly course. For us, it is important to accompany and be part of these training and education alternatives, allowing a person to learn how to assemble furniture in three days, develop, grow, and why not, inspire others who want to follow the same path.”
Nora Baima, a volunteer at the Palliative Care Foundation, expressed her gratitude “for being able to receive this furniture that will be destined for our hospice, a work that is under construction and is intended for people who require it. We are very grateful for the donation.”
The training was carried out through joint work between the Municipality of Concordia, CeDeFi, and the company EGGER, which, from their respective areas, coordinated resources and capabilities to carry out this training and production proposal. In this way, the initiative allowed for linking training, work, forest-industrial production, and social commitment.
The activity is part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, which promotes public policies oriented towards training, employment, and local economic growth.
