The Municipality of Concordia continues with the paving works framed within the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, which are being executed in different sectors of the city.
On J.J. Valle street, between La Pampa street and Presbítero Odiard street, water pipe, sewer, and valve replacement works were first carried out, along with deep cleaning of storm drains to ensure the technical durability of the pavement. Currently, soil consolidation tasks have begun to pave the way for paving.
While touring the site and in dialogue with the residents, Mayor Francisco Azcué highlighted the importance of these comprehensive interventions “as they ensure a pavement that will last over time. Talking to the local residents, they express that this substantially improves their day-to-day life, and that is what we set out to do as an administration: work so that the people of Concordia feel better and better”.
After pointing out that weather conditions have not been favorable lately for the pace of work, Azcué maintained that despite this, “we are starting works in various neighborhoods of the city. We are also advancing with the awarding of the asphalt plant, which has already been tendered; the paving stone plant that will be used to carry out articulated pavement”.
Finally, the mayor announced that a concrete paving plan is soon to be executed through the “Mi Cuadra PROGR.E.S.S.A.”, a solidarity program for self-financing and contribution for improvement promoted by the Municipality of Concordia to improve neighborhood infrastructure.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Works, Fernando Esquibel, highlighted the technical aspect of the works that have been developed in the city: “what refers to the replacement of sewer pipes, storm drains, chamber intakes, cleaning, reconditioning, and, where new chambers are needed, they are built. Always following the engineering project”.
Esquibel stressed that the paving works are carried out after a prior study, citing as an example the case of J.J. Valle street, which once finished and in turn, “is connected with the pavement of La Pampa street, which is under execution, will end up benefiting, for example, two educational establishments and, furthermore, it intersects with Paula Albarracín street, which was inaugurated a few months ago, forming a circulation ring that favors many neighborhoods”.
