This morning, bids were opened for the public tender for the construction of a culvert on 6 de Caballería Street, between Monseñor D´Andrea and Rocamora streets, in the northeastern area of Concordia. The project, which is part of the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial, has an official budget of 97 million pesos, to be executed with the Municipality's own funds.
While storm drainage piping and curb and gutter works are being carried out in the Parque Río Uruguay and El Arenal neighborhoods, aimed at improving drainage, organizing neighborhood infrastructure, and providing a better quality of life for residents, this project is essential to capture water flow and facilitate water runoff during days of unfavorable weather conditions.
The current structure is insufficient, as large amounts of water from a wide catchment basin converge at that point, some through excavated channels and others through sections of reinforced concrete pipes.
The mayor Francisco Azcué stated that “this is a very important project for this sector of the Parque Río Uruguay neighborhood and the area known as El Arenal, because it provides answers to a demand that existed in the location, which is affected by water every time we have intense rainfall”.
“All of this is possible thanks to the strong investment we are carrying out with the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial. We continue to invest in different neighborhoods of the city to improve the quality of life of our residents,” maintained Azcué, who also highlighted the number of bids submitted through the digital system GESCOM.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Public Works, Mateo Sastre, explained that “this hydraulic project is in addition to what is already being done in that sector, such as curb and gutter and storm drains. Due to the topography of the place, with slopes, a significant flow gathers that causes serious problems to the condition of the street; therefore, the goal is for everything to discharge directly into the culvert once it is completed.”
6 bids were submitted for the call for tenders, corresponding to the following firms: Incar S.A.; Cyalco S.R.L.; Cocco Construcciones S.R.L.; Grinac Movimiento de Suelos S.R.L.; Construcciones de Ingeniería y Arquitectura Coinar S.R.L. and José Antonio Ava.
