At the “Puerto TEC” Technology Hub, Mayor Francisco Azcué led a technical and informative meeting regarding the tax exemptions established by ordinance for companies that join the Municipal Registry of Knowledge Economy Companies.
In this context, the registration of the company Finnegans S.A. took place, which gains access to significant tax benefits, such as the exemption from the Commercial municipal tax and the General Real Estate municipal tax for five years, extendable to 10, if they expand their staff of employees or invest in significant improvements to their facilities.
In addition, it will have priority access to innovation spaces such as incubators, accelerators, and public coworking spaces, as well as technical advice and support in the formulation of strategic innovation and development projects. They will also enjoy priority in employability and economic development programs managed by the Municipality.
“We are aware of the enormous potential our city has and we are working to transform it, generating possibilities for growth and development as in this case, the knowledge economy, based on an enterprise that comes from the private sector to whom we must give all the tools they need to achieve their dreams,” stated Azcué.
“Our dream is for Concordia to be the best place to raise our children and for that, we must continue generating public policies that create opportunities with an increasingly efficient State,” highlighted the Mayor.
MODERNIZATION AND FISCAL RELIEF
For his part, the Secretary of Cabinet Coordination and Treasury, Pablo Ferreyra, highlighted that “we are the administration and management that has reduced the tax burden on the private sector the most, managing to modernize the Municipality in a way that was not possible until recently, which implied a cultural change for the administration and that is achieved with transparency.”
“Daily we see that there are entrepreneurs and companies in Concordia that make us feel very proud,” so the objective is “to accompany them so that they continue growing and generating strategic alliances with other companies from other parts of the country and the world,” concluded Ferreyra.
The Director of Innovation and Knowledge Economy, Pedro Kohn, pointed out that this step “is a great milestone that completes the first phase of the area's strategy, which today has become a State policy, thanks to everything we have been working on.”
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Blas Briceño, representative of the company Finnegans S.A. valued “this benefit that encourages us to continue investing in the city, working with resources and knowledge available in the people who are here, in Concordia. The city is developing talent, it is developing the capabilities of a lot of young people and professionals, so it is a source of pride and a great opportunity,” he concluded.
In the same vein, Diego Fernández, founding partner of DEFYMOTION Robotics expressed that “starting a possible business, where you are exempted from these tax regimes, gives you good power to enter the market.”
Present were the Director of Revenue Fernando Marsicano; councilwoman Verónica Del Boca and representatives of different knowledge economy companies in the city.
