The Municipality of Concordia, through the Infrastructure and Development Plan towards the Bicentennial (PID) and with its own resources, continues with the paving works in different neighborhoods of the city.
The works are being executed in stages. One of them is the one being developed in the northeast area, where comprehensive works are being carried out, prior to what will be the final asphalt paving, on San Juan street, between M. Arruabarrena street and Etchevehere street and 6 de Caballería street, between San Lorenzo and Chabrillón.
Mayor Francisco Azcué, together with the Secretary of Public Works Fernando Esquibel, was touring the interventions, where he highlighted the scope of the program and the progress of the works “even though the weather has not been favorable to us. Talking to the residents, we explain to them that each sector that is paved is not chosen fortuitously, but rather a prior study was carried out to determine the sectors and for these to form a circuit, improving the transitability of the streets”.
Likewise, Esquibel highlighted that the works are concentrated in strategic sectors: “We are already intervening in many points of the city, neuralgic ones, which emerged from an exhaustive urban intervention, of laying out street nodes, connecting axes, boulevard connections, main streets that decompress traffic and help to urbanize Concordia in a concrete and optimal way”.
In the initial phase, the renovation of the basic infrastructure networks is carried out, which includes the replacement of drinking water pipes, the sewage collection network, and all household connections. To ensure the operability of the system, sectioning gate valves and hydrants are installed.
Also, the systematization of storm drains is carried out, with their corresponding collection and inspection chambers. In this way, the risks of flooding due to obstruction are reduced, guaranteeing a more efficient and safe drainage in the event of intense rainfall.
This stage also includes the paving of Etchevehere street between San Juan street and H. Yrigoyen street; Hipólito Yrigoyen street between Etchevehere street and O'Connor street; O'Connor street between Hipólito Yrigoyen street and Eva Perón Ave.; Belgrano street between San Lorenzo Ave. and Salto Uruguayo street.
