The ordinance, presented by the ruling party bloc at the request of the Mayor, exempts those who carry out commercial and service activities during the 2026 edition of the traditional festival from paying municipal fees for one time only. The measure seeks to support the recovery of Villa Zorraquín after the storm and marks the beginning of joint work with the fair vendors.
The Deliberative Council of Concordia unanimously approved this morning the ordinance promoted by Mayor Francisco Azcué, presented by the ruling party bloc, which establishes an exceptional exemption from the payment of municipal fees for those who participate with commercial and service provision activities in the 2026 San Cayetano Patronal Festival.
The initiative reaches all persons who register through the Undersecretariat of Government to be part of the traditional festival and will be valid exclusively for this year's edition.
The ordinance establishes that the exemption will be exceptional in nature and will be applied exclusively to the 2026 edition of the festival, without constituting a precedent for future editions.
"We believe in a State that supports and facilitates. That is why we are promoting this exemption to encourage the participation of all those who want to work during the San Cayetano Festival, eliminating a cost and generating better conditions for them to carry out their activity," stated Mayor Francisco Azcué.
The Mayor added that "in the face of an exceptional situation, the State must generate tools that support those who make an effort every day. This measure seeks to facilitate the work of entrepreneurs, fair vendors, and service providers, allowing more residents to take advantage of such an important celebration for Concordia."
Azcué also announced that this decision does not represent an isolated action, but the beginning of a work agenda with the sector. "This is the first step of a path that we want to travel together with the fair vendors. The intention is to continue dialoguing, listening to their needs, and building, jointly, tools that allow strengthening their work."
The San Cayetano Patronal Festival constitutes one of the most important religious, social, and cultural events in Concordia. Each year it brings together thousands of people from different neighborhoods of the city, from towns in the province, and from different parts of the country, also representing an important development opportunity for entrepreneurs, artisans, fair vendors, and service providers.
