The Municipality of Concordia, through the Department of Senior Citizen Policies and the Undersecretariat of Environment, will carry out a new Compost and Seedling Distribution day, a proposal aimed at fostering sustainable practices and strengthening the community's environmental commitment.
The activity will take place on Friday, August 7, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., at the "Juana Sarriegui de Isthilart" Nursing Home, located at 1051 Lieberman St., and will feature the participation of the Bicentenario and Santa Rita Retiree Centers.
During the meeting, participants will learn how to transform organic waste into compost, a natural resource that improves soil quality and contributes to reducing the amount of household waste. In addition, they will receive a seedling to continue cultivating at home and put the acquired knowledge into practice.
The proposal seeks to create spaces for learning and exchange, promoting responsible habits regarding the environment and favoring the active participation of older adults in initiatives linked to sustainability and the care of common spaces.
From the municipality, they highlighted that these types of actions are part of an environmental awareness policy that promotes the circular economy and the development of sustainable practices, while simultaneously strengthening community ties and the well-being of older adults.
The activity is free and is part of the joint work between municipal areas and retiree organizations to promote a greener, more participatory city committed to the environment.
