This was one of the points addressed in a meeting between the head of the area, Sebastián Arístide, and the director of Medical Specialties, Dr. Yamina Román.
The Secretary of Human Development of the Municipality of Concordia, Sebastián Arístide, met with the head of the Directorate of Medical Specialties (DEM-Ex Public Assistance) with the objective of establishing a work agenda, setting priorities. One of the points was to guarantee access to health for the residents of the peripheral areas of the city.
“There were several topics we addressed, but one of the most important is that the Directorate of Medical Specialties supports the peripheral neighborhoods in joint work with Primary Health Care to guarantee access to health for residents through the Primary Health Care Centers (CAP),” noted Dr. Yamina Román.
In that sense, she highlighted the “Relevar” Program, as it allows for obtaining information about the community. “It is very important that the approach, in this case regarding health, is carried out according to age and risk factors.”
On the other hand, she mentioned the work they have been developing regarding the Health Booklet. Román explained that with every request made at the DEM, “we tell them that we are taking advantage of that opportunity for a complete health check-up according to the patient's age.”
Finally, and regarding the established objectives, Román indicated that one of them is to add more professionals and reactivate some programs that stopped functioning. Efforts will also be made to improve the infrastructure and furniture conditions of the facility.
